Information On How To Participate In Future Events:

1.      LET US KNOW YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING US.

Please visit the "Become a GBTTL Photographer" section of our website and subscribe to our email notification list. Once you receive your confirmation, we will add you to the list of potential contributing photographers for future events. JOINING OUR MAILING LIST DOES NOT COMMIT YOU TO ANYTHING. This simply gives us a little information about you, such as your skill level and contact information and helps us calculate how many sessions we have available for any given event.

2.     KEEP YOUR EYE ON YOUR INBOX.

We will send an email to all photographers on our mailing list each time we schedule a new event. You may then decide if you are interested in participating in that individual event (either by joining us to take portraits or donating no-cost sessions, depending on the type of event).

FOR "FULL-DAY PORTRAIT SESSION" TYPE EVENTS.

This type of event is good for Photographers who wish to spend a day working with other photographers at an event where we provide on-site portrait sessions for a large number of families. We have a blast sharing our time and talent together on event day.

GBTTL will have individuals and families already signed up in advance for the event. You will join us at the event location on the day of the event to take portraits of those people who have signed up. While you are welcome to participate for whatever length of time on event day, ideally we would like you to be available for approximately 6 hours.

The day of the event, we will meet at the location early, and set-up several backgrounds with lighting, as well as sign in tables, etc. We will ask that photographers bring your camera, and any background stands, studio strobes/mono-lights and any props you may have to help conduct the portrait sessions. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND OR STUDIO LIGHTING TO PARTICIPATE. Generally, we have more photographers than backgrounds and we can take turns with the background and lighting we have set up. However, we will need a couple photographers that are willing to bring their backgrounds and lighting for each event.

The logistics change for each event and can be found in the specific information for that event. Sometimes we will print images at the actual event and give them to participants before they leave. At other events, we will collect images from you for printing at a lab. Prints will then either be delivered directly to the participants or they will pick them up at a designated location.

FOR "PORTRAIT DRAWING" TYPE EVENTS.

This type of event is good for Photographers who are not available to join us at one of our full-day events. It is also good for Photographers who prefer to work in a slower-paced environment as our full-day events can be high-energy events.

For these types of events, any photographer that wishes to participate will choose how many no-cost portrait session packages they wish to contribute to the event. (Each package will include a portrait sessions, 8x10 print and CD with all images.) AS A DONATING PHOTOGRAPHER, YOU WILL NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT ON THE DAY OF THE ACTUAL EVENT.

The GBTTL staff will collect information from those event attendees who wish to enter a drawing for a no-cost portrait session. We will then draw the winning name(s) (depending on the number of sessions donated to that event by participating photographers.) After the event, we will contact each contributing photographer and give them the names and contact information for the family/families that won their certificate(s). The Photographer will then need to contact your winners and schedule their no-cost portrait session at a time and location that is convenient to both of you. (We ask that all sessions from an event be completed within 90 days of the event.)

When you conduct your session(s), we request that it be at least 30 minutes in length. You are also asked to provide each winner with a free 8x10 print and a CD containing all of their images from their shoot. They will also need a reproduction release so that they may have their images printed wherever they choose. We have all the necessary releases and forms you will need to conduct your shoots.

If you are interested in contributing certificates to a specific event referenced in an email from us, simply follow the instructions in that email regarding how to donate session certificates.

That’s it! You have two options of how to participate. If this has you totally excited about giving back via GBTTL, please join our mailing list right away so we can keep you up to date upcoming event opportunities!
