How To Receive A No-Cost Portrait
At Giving Back Through The Lens (GBTTL), we have a special place in our heartS for those individuals and families who are living at or below the poverty level. We know that sometimes the day-to-day struggles of life can be very overwhelming.
Many of us at GBTTL contribute to and assist with other charities in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area as well. Through GBTTL, we feel we can make your life just a little better.
Professional portraits provide joy, closeness, bonding, memories and a shared history that no family should have to go without. Sharing portraits fosters emotional, spiritual and human connections that are beneficial to all families. GBTTL gives you a chance to acknowledge those special connections with an opportunity to win a NO-COST, professional quality, portrait of your child, family, high school senior or aging parents and grandparents.
We have numerous photographers who participate in GBTTL and more are joining us all the time. Unfortunately, people in need far outnumber the photographers we have available to contribute sessions.
We have a couple of ways that you may be able to obtain a no-cost portrait through GBTTL.
On Site, Full-Day, Portrait Events
At these types of events, we sign you up in advance to have your portrait taken on the day of the event.
On the day of the event, you come to the designated location and we will have a photographer take your portrait. We then provide you with one free 8" x 10" print, as well as your image on a CD. You can have additional prints made at any low-cost local or online photo lab. Depending on the event, we will sometimes provide you with your print and CD at the event. For other events you may need to pick your print up a week or two later. Please check the upcoming events page for details on each specific event.
Enter A Drawing For A No-Cost Portrait Session
At these type of events we will have a table set up where you may enter a drawing to win a certificate which entitles you to a no-cost portrait package at a later date. The package will include a no-cost portrait session with a photographer, free 8" x 10" print and a CD containing your image(s). You can then have additional prints made at any low-cost local or online photo lab.
We will conduct the drawing at the end of each event and you will be notified if you win a certificate. The donating photographer will then work with you to schedule your portrait session at a time and location that is convenient for you.
